Application Requirements for Volunteers: Hondurans and Foreigners

 

General Requirements for All Volunteers

1. Health:
   • Updated vaccination card, including required vaccines such as yellow fever (for foreigners from countries where it is endemic).

1. Values and Focus on Childhood:

1. • Letter of intent expressing your motivation to work with children and your commitment to the organization's values (solidarity, respect, integrity, and focus on childhood).
   • Provide personal or professional references that certify your integrity and ethical commitment.

1. Age:

1. • Minimum Age: 16 years.
   • There is no age limit, but the applicant must have the physical and mental ability to perform the assigned tasks.

1. Legal Documentation:

1. • Copy of identification document (DNI for Hondurans, passport for foreigners).
   • Valid criminal and police background check (maximum 3 months old).

 

Specific Requirements for Hondurans

1. National Documentation:
   • Copy of the Honduran identity card.
   • Proof of current residence (utility bill or municipal certificate).

1. Availability:

1. • Minimum commitment of 3 months of volunteering, depending on the area of interest.

1. Experience:

1. • Previous experience in related areas (education, health, psychology, etc.) is a plus but not mandatory.

 

Specific Requirements for Foreigners

1. Immigration Documentation:
   • Valid passport with a minimum of 6 months of validity at the time of application.
   • Valid visa for the duration of stay in Honduras (according to the country's immigration regulations).
   • Temporary volunteer work permit issued by the Immigration Department (can be processed with the support of the organization).

1. Insurance:

1. • International health insurance valid in Honduras that includes emergency medical coverage.
   • Liability insurance (optional but recommended).

1. Languages:

1. • Basic proficiency in Spanish to interact with the community. If the language is not mastered, demonstrate willingness to learn.

1. Invitation Letter:

1. • Official letter from Academia La Providencia justifying your participation as a volunteer (for immigration procedures).

 

Health and Safety Topics

1. Health Exams:
   • Tuberculosis and other infectious disease tests according to the country's protocols.
   • Certification of physical fitness for community and/or educational activities.

1. Safety and Conduct Rules:

1. • Respect the organization's rules regarding the treatment of children, including child protection policies.
   • Participate in mandatory training on first aid and emergency management.

 

Application Process

1. Document Submission:
   • Complete the application form and attach the required documentation.
   • For foreigners, begin the immigration process at least 3 months in advance.

1. Interview:

1. • Personal interview (in-person or virtual) with the Academia La Providencia team.

1. Initial Training:

1. • Participate in an induction session on the organization's policies, values, and activities.

 

Ethical Commitment

All volunteers must sign a volunteer agreement that includes:

• Commitment to respect Honduran laws.
• Adherence to the policies of Academia La Providencia, especially regarding child protection and organizational values.
• Fulfillment of assigned tasks with responsibility and respect.
